Effects of Smoking

Effects of smoking tobacco are one of the biggest killers if not THE biggest killer in the world. There are over 5,000 chemicals in a single cigarette. Effects that ruin your health are bound to happen from smoking something that has so many chemicals in it, 10 % of these chemicals are toxic. It is only natural to think how something so harmful can affect your health. Looking at these figures here how it can affect certain parts of your body.
  • Teeth start to discolour and loosen
  • Smoking leads to pre-mature ageing due to the resriction of the blood vessels in the skin.
  • Male smokers have more chance of erectile dysfunction where as female smokers have a higher risk of infertility.
  • Hypertension and Heart Attacks are more common in smokers
  • Smoking can increase the chance of stroke.
  • The lungs are probably worst hit due to the high risk of Lung Cancer in turn causing respiratory complications.
Did you know that when you smoke, every time you inhale, you are actually inhaling more than 4800 different harmful chemicals, 69 of which are shown to trigger different cancer related diseases? If you do manage to quit smoking the chances of lung cancer or other respiratory disease is dramatically reduced.

Well there are some of the facts I'm not going to sit here and tell you to stop smoking as I was a smoker once too in fact I'm only on week 2 of the Champix course I have been smoke free for 2 days now and going ok. It's all down to you, it's your choice if you decided to quit smoking or not. I'm only trying to weigh up the pros and cons of smoking and quitting smoking.
